JULY 2010 EVENTS

Low-Flying Trapeze Workshop for Adults

Saturday July 24th, 2010, 2-4 pm

Dancer, choreographer, movement educator, and movement therapist Debra Landau will teach a low-flying trapeze workshop for adults, 18 years old and up. No previous dance or acrobatic experience necessary.

The low-flying trapeze is a very mobile trapeze hung from a center point so that the bar and ropes form a triangle. "Low-flying" refers to the bar being within reach of a person standing on the floor, allowing the person to easily get on and off the bar. Beginners can enjoy "flight" in the first lesson, including swings, hangs, and spins below the bar, and mounts and poses on the bar. Some partnering will be explored during this workshop.

Reserve your spot now by e-mail

or by phone (505) 842-9418.

What we are exactly...

The AirDance ArtSpace is located on an acre of rural property in Albuquerque's culturally rich South Valley. The building originally was a church (circa 1930). Renovations began in November of 2000.

Our Theater/Performance Space is designed for aerial dance and the hanging of aerial apparatus. Exclusive home to AirDance New Mexico, this unique space features a 1000 lb. point load on 3 "aerial" beams 20 feet above the floor.

Three new rooftop HVAC units provide year round comfort with central air and heat throughout our entire facility. Lighted parking and outdoor picnic/smoking areas provided. Additional parking is available . We are primarily designed to offer you space for your events, workshops, and conferences.

We have been the site for memorable weddings, receptions, and private gatherings as well as for large concerts. We can seat up to two hundred in the Main Theater space. We are the perfect 'do it yourself spot' for performance events. We are available for events open to the public for which you charge your own admission/ticketing/press releases. We have space for merchandise sales as well.

Our rental prices vary and are dependent on each event. Rates are all inclusive and will include a required damage deposit. Call 505-842-9418 to arrange a meeting on the premises for your price quote after discussing your needs. A small deposit is required to hold your date in advance. We will list your event with website links on this website for free.

For performances: Our 2400 sq. ft. theater is an 'open black box' style with newly circuited electric power, central ac/heat, and basic stage 'pot lights' with a 300 watt portable sound system . Currently we have no 'raised stage' area. Seating for 150 in folding chairs to be arranged as you prefer. For SRO or dance events, we have room for up to 300 in the Main Theater. Call for details.
